Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health follows the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
