Finally viewers can begin: first five minutes of the fifth season of Stranger Things unveiled.
The concluding series of the streaming giant's otherworldly blockbuster Stranger Things is poised to be one of the biggest releases of this year. The first part premieres on 27 November, however a sneak peek of the spine-tingling initial moments has been shared online.
The Opening: A Flashback to 1983
This installment, named the prologue, brings audiences back to the beginning of the show in the early '80s, following the vanishing of Will Byers.
"What should I do—stay or go?" Will sings while attempting to stay collected in the parallel world.
The situation rapidly turns terrifying the moment a fearsome beast emerges and pulls Will to the stronghold of the villain. "At long last, we can begin," he informs the youth while shooting a vine down his throat. "You and I, we are going to do truly magnificent deeds together."
Release Schedule and Big Screen Events
The second part of the last season will be broadcast on the day after Christmas, while the series finale released on New Year's Day – which will also be screened in specific cinemas.
Plot Summary
The description reads: "The season of the late '80s. The town is damaged by the emergence of dimensional tears, and the protagonists come together by a single goal: locate and eliminate Vecna. But he has disappeared – his location and plans a mystery. Making more difficult their mission, officials has enforced Hawkins under military quarantine and increased its hunt for the heroine, compelling her back into hiding. When the yearly mark of the event approaches, so does a heavy, known fear. The ultimate conflict is approaching – and with it, an evil more powerful and more lethal than anything else they've faced previously. Production Insights
The surprise clip was shared to YouTube after the series' Hollywood event on Thursday, with appearances from cast members like one of the main stars and her co-star.
"The scope of it has increased … It features heightened thrills and more special effects, but it's also without a doubt the most heartfelt series because it's the end of the narrative for each of these personas," the series' co-creator, noted about the last chapters.
The co-producer and partner, added: "Launching it for audiences is anxiety-inducing, however we feel equipped to finally show it."
