Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a believed to be capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
